What and When?

The summit runs January 17, 2021 through March 17, 2021 and includes three live, 90-minute workshops via Zoom with Tonya Ward Singer. You get to choose the best timing for your live workshops, either (1) Wednesdays from 3:00-4:00 PM Pacific on January 20, February 10, and March 3, 2021, or (2) Thursdays from 10:00-11:30 AM Pacific on January 21, February 11, and March 4, 2021 – whichever works best for you. Participants also get two-month access to self-paced lessons and an exclusive Summit Community Forum, moderated by Tonya Ward Singer, to support job-embedded action, reflection, and impact.

  • Who should attend?

    All K - 12 teachers, specialists, and coaches in culturally and linguistically-diverse schools who want practical ways to increase student excellence with collaborative conversations, close reading and writing with evidence in virtual or in-person teaching. If you are a coach or instructional leader who does not teach students, we recommend you partner with a classroom teacher and collaborate to apply learning in that teachers classroom (or class Zooms) for a least one hour per week during the summit.   • When is the last date to register?

    The last date to register via this website is January 14th, 2021. We close registration on this date at midnight Pacific time to ensure registrants have time to get the book EL Excellence Every Day, and be ready for our live events the following week!

  • How long can we access the online content?

    The online summit community forum with Tonya Ward Singer, and self-paced content will be available to all registered participants from Sunday, January 17th, 2021 through Wednesday, March 17th, 2021.

  • What if I miss a live workshop?

    The live workshops are interactive demonstrations that actively engage participants. We highly recommended that you attend and provide two live options so you can chose the one that fits your schedule. We also ensure you can watch what you miss. We record each workshop and post the recordings in our community for your flexible access through March 17th, 2020. In respect for confidentiality and our community trust, we omit breakout room dialogues in the recordings. There is no refund for a missed Zoom workshop.

  • Is this a training of trainers?

    This is not a training of trainers. This is a book-to-action learning experience designed to help each participant use the mindsets, pedagogy and resources in EL Excellence Every Day effectively to directly impact student participation and learning. If you are a coach or instructional leader who does not teach students, we recommend you invite a classroom teacher to register at the same time, and that you partner to apply learning in that teacher's classroom (or class Zooms) during the summit. If you are an administrator, please recruit teams of teachers and coaches to register to join us. You get a discount when you register 10+ educators at the same time. When you register 30+, you have the option of custom scheduling the live events to fit your time zone and optimal local PD schedule.   • What are your cancelation and transfer policies?

    Registration may be canceled up to 7 days before the course begins on January 17th, 2021 for a full refund minus a $50 registration fee. Registration for a live event or course may be transferred to another person, up to 7 days before the course start date. There is a $50 fee for transfers. A missed event is non-refundable and non-transferable.

  • Should we register as a team?

    Yes! The best learning is collaborative. Also, you save time and money when you register multiple individuals at one time. Group registration discounts for this event closed on January 8th, 2021.   • Do you accept purchase orders?

    Registering directly with a credit card on the secure www.academy.tonyasinger.com site is the fastest way to reserve your spot. Group registrations (ten or more individuals registering at the same time) requested by January 8, 2021 are eligible for payment via organizational check or purchase order.
